Pamela’s vision to help her friends took a big step forward with the ribbon cutting of the recently finished Pamela’s Place Apartments, located in downtown Salt Lake City. The five-story facility will function as a supportive housing for those in need.

Just as Pamela has dedicated her life, Pamela’s Place will treat everyone that comes through these doors with dignity, respect, and a belief that home is where one starts from.

“This really isn’t about me,” Pamela said. “I just want to focus for a little bit on the people who are going to be living here, the people for whom this building came to fruition. And that’s our homeless friends and our low-income friends.”

Pamela was chosen as the building’s namesake in recognition of her years of humanitarian service and the advocacy for the city’s homeless population. Comparing her to Mother Teresa, Herbert praised her caring and generous nature.

The 100-Unit facility will offer a number of services, including counseling, mental health services, physical health services and access to a psychiatrist. The full 24/7 clinic will allow those experiencing homelessness to get the help they need and give them a roof over their head.
